Our reproduction of a promotional sticker that American Motors encouraged its dealers to hand out in 1969/ 1970. A long-haired hippie with a peace sign on his jacket and striped pants ride a cog while carrying a sign reading “Up With The Rebel Machine.”
American Motors also made the sticker available directly to customers, if they mailed a quarter to receive a four-pack.
American Motors designers had originally planned to affix the sticker to the Rebel Machine itself, but when American Motors management took a tour through the design offices and spotted the hippie, they nixed the idea, saying that there were too many people waving signs out on the streets.
This durable vinyl sticker / decal is a re-creation of a Vintage American Motors “Up With the Rebel Machine” decal.
